Spotlight on Alison Snyder, Assistant House Manager

If you've attended a Moisture Festival show at Hale's Palladium, you've probably seen Alison Snyder. She's the energetic blonde -- or, when the mood strikes, the energetic redhead -- dashing between the ticket line, box office, and seats. As assistant house manager, her job is to keep everything running smoothly at the front of the house.

How did you get involved in the Moisture Festival?
I grew up going to Seattle Children's Theater and got involved with Cirque Du Flambe, which led to Moisture. I've been volunteering for the Moisture Festival for six years now.

Do you have a favorite act?
Dr. Calamari and Acrophelia had an act built around a black-and-white film that was amazing. It was one of the most moving things I've ever seen in the festival. I also love Babette La Fave's burlesque act with bouncing light. And of course the old standards like Godfrey are essential.

Four weeks of shows is a big commitment for a volunteer. What keeps you coming back?
The people, definitely. The people here are so much fun. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't be here.
