The Members of the Board of Directors, and the Producers of the Moisture Festival would like to express our condolences to the friends and families of Drew “Shmootzi The Clod” Keriakedes and Joseph “Mashuguna Joe” Albanese, who were charter members of the Moisture Festival Family. We would also like to express our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of Kimberly Layfield, Donald Largen and Gloria Leonidas who also lost their lives in the tragic events of May 30.

Drew and Joe were part of the renowned group Circus Contraption and God’s Favorite Beefcake who performed frequently at The Moisture Festival over the years. They were creative trailblazers in the renaissance of circus and variety entertainment in the Northwest. Most importantly they were our beloved friends and fellow collaborators in the wider artistic and creative community we walked together.

We have lost two beloved and talented artists and our community is devastated. We will cherish the moments we did have with Drew and Joe and we dedicate ourselves to their memory and to the legacy of their unique free-spirited creativity and originality.

  1. Glenna Wilson was a partner of Donald Largen for 22 years. That is, Donald Largen was the common-law husband of Glenn Wilson (possibly).
