Welcome To Moisture Festival 2013!

Burlesque Host Madame X

Welcome to our 10th annual Moisture Festival – a celebration of comedy/varietè and burlesque.

Over the last nine years we have showcased over 1500 performers in 314 shows in eight different venues around Seattle. We had the pleasure of entertaining over 63,000 of you - our patrons. We also produced over a dozen benefit shows for many worthy community organizations.

Thank you for joining us as we celebrate this achievement. Much of the credit goes to you and all the other audience members who have made the festival performers feel at home and very much appreciated. This is the reason the best variety performers in the world are stopping by to be part of our shows!

We offer our eternal gratitude to the festival volunteers who have done so much to help us reach this 10-year milestone. The work they accomplish is phenomenal. Their dedication is inspiring. Together we have heavily invested in laughing stock and the returns just get better and better. While it is sometimes difficult to put a value on joy, laughter and amazement we are fortunate to have gathered sponsors and individual donors who understand the benefits. Seattle is a culturally rich city and we are proud to continue to be part of a community that supports the variety arts and art of all sizes and shapes.

We hope you will immerse yourselves in the many types of variety shows at Hale’s Palladium, come visit us on Capitol Hill at the Broadway Performance Hall for an adult evening of burlesque or a Sunday varietè matinée with the whole family. For a very unique festival evening, join us in lower Queen Anne at SIFF Cinema for our yearly collaboration with our pals at SIFF, presenting short silent films sprinkled with live varietè performances. To push our celebration to the limit, we will be presenting two very special events at Hale’s Palladium, held on Monday nights. On March 25, Miss Indigo Blue hosts an array of burlesque lovelies discussing this art forms unique and intriguing history and on April 1 the real Dr. Patch Adams will speak on humor and health.

The Moisture Festival has always understood the importance of giving back to the community that has given support to us over the years. During the first week of the festival we will be presenting two benefit matinées. Beneficiaries this year are 'Hands for a Bridge' (March 23) and 'Phinney Neighborhood Association' (March 24). In addition, we are taking a few performers on the road to entertain our veterans at the American Lake VA facility in South Tacoma.

It’s a thrill to report that the enthusiasm that launched our first festival in 2004 is very much alive and still providing the fuel for this 10-year celebration. Thank you for doing your part. Now let’s have some fun together at the 10th Annual Moisture Festival.
