Moisture Festival brings BUCKAROOS USA to this year's festival on April 3rd. Comprised of dance, comedy and theatre, BUCKAROOS USA is a rare
combination sexy and down-home fun.
Professional dancers and veterans of
the Northwest entertainment scene Jonathan Betchtel, Keon Price,
Benjamin Meersman, Joe Frothingham and host Kaleb Kerr electrify the
stage with laugh out loud humor and country dance hoe downs. BUCKAROOS
USA is satirical twist on Male Revue staples such as Chip 'n Dales and
Thunder From Down Under, in the spirit of Full Monty.
Bronco and Rebar, two hay bailing brothers get fired for
dancing on the job. Out of work with nothing left to lose, they head to
their local watering hole and dream of a world where they can dance to
their hearts content. After a failed performance attempt for their
fellow townsmen, the whole gang meets the mysterious male revue promoter
T. Bone Tucker who guides them as they give up their small town dreams
and head to the big city of Spokane to create the Greatest Male Review on Earth!

Own a restaurant? Feed a hungry Moisture Festival Artist!
![]() |
photo: John Cornicello |
Moisture Festival is about creating a community of artists who love to come together in our fair city to present the worlds largest comedy variete festival of this kind. Every night after the show we come together over a hot meal in our green room to talk about the days shows and hang out together. It creates a kind of magic that spawns sharing of ideas, flash collaborations between artists who just met, and new routines and variations tried out on stage the very next night.
While we may be a collection of incredibly talented performance artists and musicians, chefs we are not! We need you, our fantastic Seattle puveyors of all things tasty to help feed the over 200 performers that will come through the festival this year.
Please consider committing to one meal during the festival (or several!). We define one meal as a hot dinner and salad for 90 people. At least half of the main dish must be vegetarian. Even if you can only provide part of a meal, we still want to talk with you! We have a long list of sponsor benefits you'll receive as a thank you including tickets to shows, exposure of your business to our over 12000 patrons, and more.
You can help us in our mission to make the joy and wonder of comedy/varieté accessible and affordable to as wide an audience as possible by providing these performer meals as an in-kind, tax-deductible donation. To feed our hungry artists please email us at info@moisturefestival.org or call us at 206-297-1405
BOYlesque Sizzles with Mod Carousel
If you're under the impression that burlesque is all about the ladies, you're wrong. Boylesque, the male version of burlesque, will be hitting the Broadway Performance Hall again this spring during the festival. Mod Carousel, a boylesque troupe, struck internet fame this year with their gender-swapped parody of 'Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke. Lucky for us, we can stop watching their YouTube video and check them out live this spring. Get the details below and grab your tickets soon!
Mod Carousel is a multidisciplinary boylesque collective featuring the talents of the Luminous Pariah, Paris Original, and Trojan Original. Mod C has performed regularly since their founding in 2010. With over 50 shows in Europe and Australia and countless US performances under their belt, Mod C shows no signs of stopping their antics any time soon.
Trojan Original
The Red-Hot Manimal
A classically trained dancer, Trojan Original is best described as “…what would happen if a cartoonist captured the disciplined essence of Baryshnikov and the campy styles of a self-aware Schwarzenegger.” His unique approach involves witty satire surrounding the incarnation of the modern male and a healthy does of over-the-top machismo to keep things lighthearted and hysterically funny. He is here to challenge and promote the very concept of what it means to be male.
Performance Dates:
April 4 @ 10:30pm
April 5 @ 10:30pm
A professional dancer, Paris Original is poetry in motion as he exudes the graceful elegance of balletic beauty. Paris calls on his extensive experience in many forms of dance and theatre to craft his unique style of Burlesque. Possessing a statuesque aesthetic, he utilizes his affinity for movement and creative costuming to captivate, inspire and capture the hearts of audiences wherever he goes.
Performance Dates:
April 4 @ 7:30pm

The Innovative Adonis
Luminous is a Seattle-based internationally recognized burlesque ingénue
who celebrates life through multidisciplinary performance art. A
brilliant mélange of saucy satire, witty comedy, avant garde artistry,
and tantalizing tease. Mr. Pariah draws upon his extensive background in
physical theatre and dance to bring you inspirational showcases that
are designed to celebrate the thrilling highs and questionable lows of
the kooky world we live in.
Performance Dates:

Festival Favorite Frank Oliver's Twisted Cabaret Returns to Seattle Next Week
You've seen the insanely funny antics of Frank Olivier at Moisture Festival, don't miss his one-man vaudeville comedy Twisted Cabaret - My Twisted Valentine coming to Seattle in February!
Sweethearts beware, Cupid is in the air! A maddening mix of cabaret, burlesque and theatre, this season's TWISTED CABARET has a Valentine's Day twist complete sword swallowing, pickpocket magic, a ballet performed entirely on a unicycle, and so much more. Through a series of unfortunate events, Helen Hayes nominated variety artist and actor Frank Olivier (Broadway's Sugar Babies, "The Tonight Show," "America's Got Talent," "Ellen") must perform the entire show and its different variety acts aided only by his hunchback assistant played by Paul Nathan ("Star Trek Voyager," The I Hate Children Children's Show). A wild, raucous 90-minutes of pure entertainment, TWISTED CABARET will make you laugh out loud again and again!
Twisted Cabaret opens Thursday night and runs Thursdays through Sundays in Hale's Palladium for three weeks beginning next week February 6th. Tickets range from $17 to $60.

Moisture Festival is excited to host a seminar presented by John on Monday March 31st. John’s seminars include stage and close-up magic using cards, coins, cigars and a variety of everyday objects. Moisture Festival Volunteers Wanted - Volunteer Call & Meeting February 17th
It would be impossible to present an event like the Moisture Festival
without the enormous army of volunteers who donate their time, energy,
and love to create this festival, see that shows run smoothly, and ensure
that the audience has a great experience.
If you are interested in being a part of the festival, join us on Monday evening, February 17th at 6:30pm to hear about the 2014 festival, learn about this year's volunteer positions, and meet returning volunteers and the festival organizers. After the meeting, mingle with new and old volunteers, talk to our department leaders and sign up for teams.
Our volunteers have made it possible for us to celebrate 10 years of comedy/varietè at the Moisture Festival! Together, let's bring Moisture Festival into a second decade! Because of the enthusiastic people who have volunteered every year since 2004 we have presented a month long festival that has grown to over 50 event including over 200 performers and audiences of all ages reaching 12,000.
Our motto “Laughter is the key” emphasizes that our volunteer team’s main mission is to have fun while we work together. Each year we seek new volunteers to join our returning teams who take care of greeting patrons at the door, box office, bartending, transportation, artist accommodations, set building, data management – to name only a few of the areas necessary for the continued success of this annual springtime festival.
We have a lot of fun together each and every night of the festival. Be a part of the amazing family that makes this unique event happen!
